I won Tore's beauty giveaway last year (go and check out her blog when you can, it's under construction atm) which included a Jeffree Star Lipstick. I've been wanting to try his lipsticks since I first knew about them but never had the money to afford to buy one and then get them shipped here. Thanks to BeautyBay we can now get them in the UK. Everyone knows who Star is in the beauty world. Heck, if you had a MySpace there was a chance you came across him. And his drama but I'm not here to talk about his past mistakes or his current dramas. I'm here to review this lipstick.
Can I just take a moment to say that flower confetti is perfect for blog photo props. I'm so happy about the way my photos have been coming out lately and I've only been using my android phone. Anyway onto the review.
Described as a soft neutral coral with a matte finish on Jeffree's website. Rose Matter, is 100% cruelty free and vegan. It retails for $18. You can grab it here at JS Cosmetics or if you're in the UK, you can grab it here for £16. Which isn't too bad considering some of the prices of other brands. It claims to be light weight and long lasting and that's true in my opinion. I also really love how pigmented Jeffree's formula is and doesn't dry out my lips. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to glide onto the lips and the packaging is so pretty! The lid clicks into place too so no accidental drying out or leaking.
I'd also like to point out that my light boxes have made the colour of the swatch much more vibrant than it really is. Would I purchase JS Cosmetics even surrounding his past etc? Yeah of course. I love the product and life is too short to worry about supporting Jeffree's past actions and his current ones too. If you don't, then that's fine too.
